Reduce matching exceptions

The most common cause of exceptions is messy documents — not your data.

Handle messy PDFs first

Before running a Test of Details, check your supporting documents:

Split bundled PDFs — If multiple documents are packed into one PDF (e.g., a bundle of invoices), Moby may struggle to match correctly.

1. Select the bundled PDF in Workspace
2. Click Split PDF
3. Review and confirm the splits
4. Run your test on the split files

Include reference fields

Invoice numbers, PO numbers, and other unique identifiers dramatically improve matching accuracy.

Best fields for matching:

1. Invoice number (most reliable)
2. PO number
3. Amount + date combination
4. Unique transaction ID
